REVIEWS:
The awning has a clip in ground sheet which is fab because, if you want to book on a site that insists on no groundsheets, you can remove it and choose to use eco groundsheet.
The awning comes with a bag of plastic pegs but we preferrer using own rock pegs. The fabric is 'Feel the difference' Weathershield™ HD heavy duty material - strong but lightweight. It is Flame retardant and UV stabilised and has a massive 6000mm hydrostatic head to protect you from the biblical downpours of our British summers.
Out of the bag, you unfold the awning and lay it out, pegging out the four corners. It took us a while to see them, but there are 4 blue taped pegging out points that you use. Once we had sussed that, pump attached and pumped up.
The high capacity pump is lightweight and efficient but it is big so might not be the best if you are short on space.
The drive-away section at the back is 1 metre long and there is a door on one side and a few adjuster straps on the other side to take up any slack. The edges of the tunnel are also elasticated which will help achieve a better fit. The top of the tunnel has 6mm beading attached which is perfect for what we need.
Both sides zip out, the front rolls up and you can even roll up the drive-away part at the back. In effect, you could use this awning as a gazebo. This helps with the air flow on hot summer days if we do get any. There is also one ventilation point between the tunnel and the awning and then in one of the zip out sides there is also a ventilation panel.
One side has a ‘stay clear’ plastic window and a privacy curtain. The other side has a half mesh flyscreen which zips down and clips down. The front door has zips up each side and a stayclear plastic window with a privacy curtain which rolls down. Both privacy curtains roll into a pocket and there is one toggle in the middle to keep it in place. On the front door it is fine but, on the side panel, due to the length of the window, the pocket isn't very effective with part of the privacy curtain falling out at each end.
You could actually add up to two bedroom annexes if you were on a big pitch or on grass. No problem for larger families.
When we pack the awning away, we get the packed size down to a pretty good 35 x 40 x 80cm. It comes in an oversized bag with compression straps so packing isn't an issue. We didn't put the pump back in the bag but the groundsheet is in there but the pegs aren't.
We very much like this awning and it suits the Go-Pod very well.
