Go-Pod FLEX wins design award

We're delighted to announce that the new Go-Pod FLEX model - redesigned & redefined for the modern explorer - recently won at the 2025 Caravan Design Awards, hosted by The Caravan & Motorhome Club during the NEC Motorhome & Caravan Show October 2024, in the "Pop Tops 1150kg and under without washroom" category!

The panel of judges (formed of industry experts including journalists, bloggers and vloggers) assessed the entrants in each category based on a wide range of criteria and awarded a score for each, which were then totalled to give an overall score used for the judging process.

The judges were particularly impressed by the innovative use of space in the Go-Pod FLEX, made possible by our pioneering partnership with a bespoke CAD design firm. The team at Bespoke 3D scanned the interior of an empty Go-Pod (without any furniture installed) to create a 3D model which they used to totally redesign the FLEX from the ground up.

Go-Pods are the first caravan manufacturer to use this technique (though it is already used by a number of forward-thinking campervan converters) which gives far greater control of the design and manufacturing processes, by allowing us to visualise the end result before the furnishings are fabricated and installed. The designers spent over 100 hours painstakingly remodelling the interior of the FLEX model to create a micro tourer that is truly lightyears ahead of its competition, based on extensive feedback provided by our team and years worth of data gathered from customer feedback surveys.

The vast majority of caravans sold on the leisure vehicle market worldwide are created using a technique called "scribing" whereby templates for furnishings are made by manually manipulating a soft/lightweight material (typically cardboard). It's an incredibly laborious process and involves a great deal of trial-and-error, with no real way to visualise or predict the end result with accuracy until a prototype is made.

By utilising this new 3D CAD design approach, we are now able to experiment with a limitless number of configurations and concepts before the production process begins.
